Kunzite is loved for it's clarity and colors. It has very few inclusions
and the beautiful, different shades of pinks and light purples it comes
in, are truly stunning. The brighter the shade of color, the more
valuable the kunzite is. Sometimes, vivid colors are found- rare hues
of bright pink to purple. Whether the stone is bright pink or bright
purple does not affect its value, it is the brightness of either color that
raises its value. Kunzite's hardness is fairly good, rating between a
6.5 to 7 on the Moh's scale.
The gorgeous colors of Kunzite are prone to fading in direct sunlight,
therefore it should never be worn at the beach or while sunbathing.
The best way to care for your kunzite is to store your jewelry in a
closed jewelry box when you are not wearing it.
Kunzite is found mainly in Afghanistan, Brazil, Madagascar, and the
USA.
